BE A PART OF HISTORY, AND A FRIEND OF THE NATION'S FIRST PUBLIC LIBRARY

What's Happening!
The holiday season is upon us, and we have a lot to be thankful for this year. Like so many, the Friends took some time to reflect on the past year and the activities we’ve been fortunate to participate in.
Here is a look back at our 2025 highlights:
-
Museum Passes for The Butterfly Place
-
February’s Puzzle Mania!
-
National Library Week Library Staff Appreciation Brunch
-
Annual $1,000 Friends of the Franklin Library Scholarship to a graduating FHS ’25 Senior
-
350+ Books given out at the Franklin Harvest Festival
-
Bookmarks & candy handed out at the Library’s Trunk or Treat Event
-
Snacks for Teen and Children’s After-School Programs
Were you able to enjoy any of the above programs or find yourself frequenting our Library and the many wonderful activities and programs they offer? Why not play an active role in supporting the amazing programs offered to our local community.
Here are ways that you can show your support:
-
Become a Friend. New Friends are always welcome!
-
Donate in the name of your favorite bookworm. Do you have that one Franklin friend on your holiday list who is hard to buy for? Why not make a donation in their name that will support their local library!
And great news: Friends donating $25 or more will receive a Friends’ Tote Bag, perfect for carrying library books and more!

Hundreds of books were given out at this year’s Harvest Festival! It was awesome to meet so many of you at this year’s Harvest Festival. Thanks for visiting our booth -- we hope you are enjoying your “new to you” books!

Limited-Edition Gift Book: The members of the Franklin Library Association told their story and the crucial history of the Town of Franklin and its library in a limited-edition book published in 2022. The Franklin Library Association: Building the Future of the Nation’s First Public Library 1858-2022 tells the whole story of the library but especially highlights the role of the Franklin
Library Association and the visionary philanthropists who funded and managed the library for the benefit of the public for more than a century. (The library eventually became a town department in the 1980s.)
